Memorial University Of Newfoundland uses SIRSI's UNICORN system to
control access to licensed databases for both local and remote users. 
Users need to enter their personal user id/pin in order to access any of
our licensed databases (SilverPlatter ERL databases and locally mounted
reference databases (eg. Current Contents). UNICORN provides the
appropriate user id/password required to access these databases. Vendors
intent on restricting access to IPs need to be enlightened on the
realities of remote access since many of our users rely on Internet
Service providers to access our system.
