Reference queries through the web

Robert,
To sum it all up briefly: volume is low, impact is low. Most queries come
from outside our local area, indeed, many come from out of state. I'd say
the #1 problem/thing to work into your planning is to make sure your
patrons provide you with a complete e-mail address and a phone number (and
their name!) Now and then we can't respond to a question because we don't
have the information needed to get the answer back to them. Other than
that, it is not a big issue for us (three to five queries a month,
approximately).
