Excuse me, but whoever wrote the above address, the
webpagesthatsuck is NOT the best site (obviously -- someone
has snipped out-of-context); the original post was for
www.creativelement.com/win95ann/ and that is a "good
implementation" of frames because:
1) You can "turn off" the frames entirely by clicking on OFF.
2) The "frames" are "moveable," so you can resize and concentrate
on whatever window (or frame) interests you.
3) The bottom frame is a "site map" with links.
Ultimately, "frames" are okay, IF PROGRAMMED PROPERLY! IMO
at least one of the frames should be a navigational tool, and I
don't think there can ever be a "good" reason for more than
three frames on one windows at max. These, of course, are my
opinions alone.
I know there are some problems with frames (yes, to print from
a specific frame you must first click in it), but ultimately
these pros outweigh the cons, and frankly navigation is the
key to being able to find what you want! And "frames" make it
easier to locate things quickly (again, IF they are programmed
and utilized properly).
