Netscape mail, a possible solution.

For those of you who considered using flute, you can disable buttons or
portions of windows with the 'disablewindow' command. For example:
disablewindow{"Netscape",">msctls_statusbar32"};
disables the mail button in Netscape Gold. The actual command may vary
for your browser... this sort of command can also, say, disable the
'start' button on Win95 machines...
Again, programming in Flute has its advantages, IF you learn to use it...
but that's why every library should have a resident IS Geek (like
me) nowdays =)
ALSO, running netscape in Kiosk mode (netscape.exe -k) disables the mail
button-- this is what we use, along with a navigation frame which
'reprograms' back/forward/home functions into NS. See
