Credit for Experience

Hello everybody.....
Can someone confirm for me the existence of a sort of clearinghouse 
for college credit for life experience? I know several individual 
colleges offer programs which address these particular concerns of 
some students, but isn't there some national group that "accredits" 
these programs?
