All,

We tested the 3Ms side-by-side with a product called Black
Angle from a company called Image One (www.glarescreen.com). The
angles of obscurity and total black-out are much tighter than the PF4XX
series. Very little interference when "dead-on". Around the same price
as PF450Ls, as well. (We evaluated a PF400 vs a Universal Black Angle,
and I had confirmed that the glass is the same in the PF400 as in the
PF450, its just a mounting difference)

They make a "universal" fit (molded with rubber "springs" on
the sides) in various sizes from 12 to 20 diag. inch monitors, or custom
molded to many monitor external edges. The universal is good if you
are ordering a ton of them, and have many different monitors to
outfit. The custom-fit ones look like a 1.5" extension to the monitor
(real close, snug fit). The Universals come with velcro tabs for extra
lockdown, the custom fit ones don't need them!

Also, Image One was _much_ easier to get an eval unit for a
couple of weeks than 3M was (I had to find a local 3M vendor that had
one!). I highly recommend getting evaluation units and testing them
side-by-side in your environments for best suitability.

Just so you know that 3M isn't the only one making them, which is
what I thought until I started checking things out for my statewide GUI
project.

P.S. General Company Info (as well as some related products info) is at
their website, but specific info on Black Angle is NOT there _yet_, but if
you call 800-522-1231, you can get specifics. I spoke with Ira Kerper,
x20.
