  ***Access97***September 29 to October 1***Calgary, Alberta***
  
  Access97 is the fifth national conference devoted to web-based
  technological issues surrounding  information provision and access in
  the library environment. 
  
  If you are involved in library systems development, design,
  implementation or maintenance or if issues surrounding the integration
  of multiple automated systems, databases and access provision to on
  and off-site resources, then this conference is for you. If you know
  someone who should be concerned with these issues please forward this
  information.

  Access97 is a technical conference, focussed this year on the
  integration of web-based tools and resources. The keynote speaker is
  Dr. Charles Lowry, Dean of Libraries at the University of Maryland. A
  published author and respected speaker on information technology, he
  will draw on a wide range of experiences to provide an energizing
  start to the conference.  Other speakers include: Clifford Lynch of
  the University of California at Berkeley on the State of the Internet,
  Marc Nolte of Silicon Graphics on Intranets, Dr. George Gaumond on
  the exciting Project Galileo and  Patrick McGlamery, speaking about
  MAGIC, a system for handling spatial data developed at the University

  Access97 is being hosted by the University of Calgary Library and will
  take place in the Metropolitan Centre in downtown Calgary, Alberta.
  The conference runs from September 29 to October 1, 1997. Information
  about Calgary attractions can also be found on the conference website.
  
  Also on the Conference website are instructions for joining the
  Conference listserv, and there will soon be an online registration
  form available.
  
  For accommodation we suggest you contact the International Hotel, the
  official hotel of the Access97 conference. It is convenient to the
  Metropolitan Centre, to downtown Calgary and to the Eau Claire
  market/restaurant area and can be reached at 1-800-661-8627. If you
  choose to stay elsewhere, contact the Calgary Convention and Tourist
