The LITA Regional Institute, Becoming A WWW Server
Expert: Why Just Surf the Net When You Can Make Waves?, is being
presented at Kovens Conference Center, Florida International University,
North Miami, FL on Friday, May 16, 1997 from 9-4.
Eric Lease Morgan, Systems Librarian at North Carolina State University
Libraries, and author of two internet books is the presenter. Through
presentations, demonstrations, group exercises, and handouts this full
day workshop will assist in five specific areas: hardware and software;
qualities of useful servers; website content; server maintenance; and
staffing. Principles and guidelines will be emphasized over
platform-dependent functions and features. Knowledge of basic
computer operations, curiosity, and a desire to learn are the only
prerequisites.
