COORDINATOR OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
The Coordinator of Information Technology is the librarian responsible
for planning library technology for the Iona College Libraries and
managing all aspects of the $2 million state-of-the-art Helen T.
Arrigoni Library/Technology Center. The librarian works
collaboratively with Computing and Information Services to facilitate
campus access to and knowledge of information technology.
The HTA Center has 73 multimedia Pentium-based workstations, a Digital
Resource Room, a Logicraft CD-ROM server, and collections supporting
academic programs. The Coordinator manages the Center, supervises 5
part-time staff and 8-10 student workers, maintains the Libraries'
World Wide Web-based public interface and participates in planning and
maintaining the campus World Wide Web.
This administrative position is responsible for coordinating and
promoting the use of the libraries' electronic resources, planning
overall library technology, and providing instruction to faculty and
students on the use of information technology. The librarian also
serves on the Library Administrative Council and the Library Services
Council. May work occasional evening or weekend hours.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master's Degree from an ALA-accredited
program; experience in library automation systems and Internet
technologies; knowledge of Windows 95, HTML, and Multimedia. The
successful candidate is a team player with excellent interpersonal and
problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience managing a library unit or
computer lab; supervisory experience; NOTIS LMS; experience in a
networked environment.
SALARY: $32-35K, 12 month contract.
