Subject: ALA Poster Session Materials You Requested

Thank you for your interest in the poster session we presented last
July at the American Library Association Meetings in New York City 
entitled "Teaching Students to Evaluate Web Resources."  We have just made 
these materials available on our Web site for anyone interested in using 
them.  

The materials include a PowerPoint presentation, Web Evaluation 
Checklists for Advocacy, Business, Informational, News and Personal Web 
Pages, links to Web pages which can be used as examples when teaching the 
evaluation concepts of Authority, Accuracy, Objectivity, Currency, and 
Coverage, and a bibliography.  

We have written an article which is to appear in the November/December 
issue of "Computers in Libraries" magazine which explains how we have 
used the materials with our students. Anyone is welcome to visit our 
site and use what they find of interest.  We merely ask that the Widener 
University copyright information on the pages be included as you 
use them.
