similar newsgroups?

Web4Lib is not, technically speaking, a newsgroup but a mailing list.
However, for people coming up to speed on web issues, I strongly recommend
some of the newsgroups in the comp.infosystems.www hierarchy. I find a lot
of benefit from reading c.i.w.authoring.html and c.i.w.browsers.ms-windows;
if I had more time I'd probably read c.i.w.servers.unix more often.
General caveats about Usenet newsgroups: do a LOT more listening than
speaking, find and read the FAQ lists, and remember that some of the
posters are pursuing their own agendas. These are rather sprightly groups.
