The box clearly points out that it only works with windows programs.
It *does* work with Trumpet Winsock, which is what I'm using right now.

I like the idea of software upgrades, as opposed to buying a new modem
every two years.  

I will say thought that the thing doesn't seem to be twice as fast as my
old 14,4 modem.
