Original message from Roy Bennett:

"...I would like to give a computer demonstration of
Netscape in an
offline mode. That is, replicate the online action of moving

from Web page to Web page as realistic as possible, but
without being
connected to the Internet. I would expect some limitations
with this
canned demo....Also looking for a way to demonstrate offline
some functions of a browser. My platform is Windows 3.1."

Response:

I've forwarded this message to someone who has created an
excellent WordPerfect Presentations "slide show" to
demonstrate use of Netscape Navigator. Between most slides
she omitted automatic transitions, so she can click on links
or buttons (clicking anywhere advances to the next slide but
she uses appropriate positions for realism). In fact, in
one workshop where she used both the slide show and an
online connection, there were a couple of times she thought
she was using the slides but was actually online and
vice-versa. I don't remember what application she used for
screen captures, but there are several shareware programs
and possibly some freeware available.

Even when you expect to be teaching online, having something
like this for backup is excellent preparation.

If others would like her to pass on advice, please contact
me directly.
