WWW Developers' Hall of Gateways--call for interest

Hello all,

While mucking about the WWW, finding information concerning launching
local & networked applications out of WWW browsers, I realized that a
single site listing/linking gateways throughout webdom would be helpful.
First, does such a place exist? Second, if not, who'd like to use one?

What I'm thinking about is a clearinghouse of libraries experimenting and
implementing WWW access to more than just html or ftp sites. Michigan
State's Front Door project
(http://www.lib.msu.edu:8000/publ_ser/cam/frontdoor/prototype2.html) one
that comes to mind. Integrating 1) database
organization, 2) distribution, 3) access and 4) documentation through the
WWW.

A site listing prototypes would be a great way to share ideas and gather
feedback from others going through the same process.

Such a clearinghouse could provide 1) links to sites (prototypes &
working), 2) brief description of project, 3)contact information and 4)
software tools (application launchers, etc).

If there's enough interest, I'd be happy (unless enundated) to keep such
a site. If there's enough traffic, I could create submission forms for
the addition of new sites.

Thanks,
David
