PPP and Netscape

This is not technically a library web question, but there is such a 
wealth of knowledge on this listserv that I have to ask!

I am trying to get to the Internet using PPP thru a local free net. I 
have encountered an error message that the tech people at the free 
net have not encountered. Can anyone shed some light on it?

I am able to get the modem connection to the free net and my IP for 
that session appears and is written to my Trumpwsk.ini. After I 
minimize TCP and fire Netscape I get this error message

  Unable to initialize the network layer! Check your winsock for 
errors.

The Winsock directory is in my PATH in the Autoexec.bat. The proper 
DNS is listed in the trumpwsk.ini file. Any suggestions would be 
appreciated!
