Netscape kiosk mode

I'm at a public library which is planning to offer patron access to the 
Internet in early '96. I've heard mention of using Netscape in kiosk mode 
for such situations, but I am unclear as to what exactly this means. Is 
this a different version of the Netscape software? What exactly is the 
difference between kiosk mode and regular Netscape access? 

Any help or suggestions will be appreciated
