Since you're in Italy you might be interested in
the Web2forDev conference coming up in September
in Rome. I was at a meeting in Amsterdam a
couple of months ago and met one the primary
organizers of the conference and got a very early
overview of the agenda. While the conference is
somewhat Agriculture related I believe most of
the content could be applied to libraries. Since
I work as an application developer and technology
strategist for an Agriculture Library (and that I
got email this morning from my boss suggesting I
go) there is a good chance I'll be there There a blurb from their web site:

Web2ForDev 2007 is the first conference devoted
to exploring the ways in which international
development stakeholders can take advantage of
the technical and organizational opportunities
provided by Web 2.0 methods, approaches and applications.

Web2ForDev 2007 is an integral part of
e-Agriculture week, a suite of consultations and
events that will take place during the period 21 - 28 September in Rome, Italy.
