For our own web page use, we have purchased the Hitachi MP-EG10W.
Does MPEG video and JPG stills. With the 1GB hard drive it can do about 2
hours ov video or up to 5,000 still images.
We are still working on the web page setup, but the video is pretty good
for compressed video and I like the still images. You can convert video to
MPEG, but why not start out with it? So far as I know, the Hitachi is the
only camera that will do this.

Price is above a thousand, but is moving down.

Can also record compressed autio or do stills with audio.

You may want to consider it, though it dos not produce video tape. I
gathered a set of stills and put them on a CD.
