These comments refer to the Ft. Vancouver Public Library "story" on the
original message.
>From my experience of subscribing to various professional
listservs for the last few years it seems to me that we all have stories
similar to the ones listed on the page given as some sort of citation for
that piece of what was called earlier (correctly, I would guess)
apocryphal information.  Anyway, my issue with Filtering Facts relates to the
IRRESPONSIBILITY of relating such stuff with flimsy if any evidence.  No
one likes dealing with this type of situation; many I would think avoid it
if at all possible. No one would want their "adventures" recorded and
posted for all to see and critique. We should address the _issue_ of least
restrictive access vs. maintaining an appropriate library environment (I
know I'll get in trouble for "appropriate" but we should stop playing
Clintonian semantic games) and try to make practical suggestions instead
of attacking each others' attempts to manage their own shops.
