Netscape "freeze" possible solution

I don't know if this will work for anyone else, but I solved the
"Netscape 3.1 freeze" at my library.  Netscape would frequently refuse
to connect to a URL unless one clicked stop and then the link again.  I
was having some GPF problems too, so I went into Netscape.ini and
changed some stuff in the [Network] line.  I changed "Use ASYNC" to =no
and "Max connections" from 4 to 1.  I haven't had this problem since,
though I am still getting a few GPFs.
