Adobe Reader or Foxit

Several points on this topic:

1. I avoid Foxit after it started changing my default browser search engine
and requiring that I install the Ask toolbar without allowing opt-out. This
was several years ago. Others have complained about this behavior:

I switched to PDF Xchange Viewer (
http://www.tracker-software.com/product/pdf-xchange-viewer). Also, Google
Chrome includes a PDF reader.

2. Several operating systems have built-in PDF viewers (Windows 8.1 has the
Reader app; Mac OS X has Preview).

3. Once in a blue moon I find a PDF that does not open in an alternative
PDF reader. For those cases I install Adobe Reader on one system, then
remove it.
