The Auraria Library is searching for a dynamic, innovative and tech-savvy librarian to fill our newly created Researcher Support Services Department Head position. The Auraria Library is located on the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver, Colorado and is administered by the University of Colorado Denver. The Library serves 53,000 students from three institutions of higher education on the Auraria Campus - University of Colorado Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver, and Community College of Denver. The Library welcomes over 900,000 visitors each year. The Auraria Library is undergoing an exciting $25 million renovation to share a truly 21st century research, learning, and collaboration space with our constituents. Job Overview:
The Researcher Support Services, Department Head administers and leads a team of four librarians responsible for implementing researcher and scholarly services for faculty, staff, undergraduate and graduate students. The Researcher Support Services portfolio includes services related to resource and information management strategies, research consultation, collection management and development, productivity and citation management tools, scholarly communications and copyright, and government information. This is an exciting position that will also help the Library imagine, plan for, and develop potential future services related to: data, GIS, the digitization, use, and reuse of unique resources, and creating virtual and physical spaces that integrate technology and digital scholarship.
Compensation: $70,000's commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
* Master's degree in Library or Information Science, or equivalent advanced degree in a discipline related to this position
o Examples of desired equivalent degrees include but not limited to: Archival Studies, Computer Science, Communications, Physics and Public Administration
* Five years of relevant experience in an academic library or research environment
* Three years of supervisory experience or program management in an academic library or research environment
Ideal Librarian: Our ideal librarian will utilize their leadership experience to guide a team of librarians that provide exemplary researcher support services to the faculty and students on the Auraria Campus. They will utilize their knowledge of emerging technologies critical to the design and delivery of information and research services. Our ideal librarian will come equipped with experience building working relationships and collaborations with academic programs and/or faculty at an institution of higher education.
