Hi John,

This is not a library website, but an institutional repository: http://repositorium.sdum.uminho.pt/?locale=en
Which uses version 4 of DSPACE system (http://dspace.org) and runs very well on any device/size. Try it using PC, tablet and smartphone and also resizing screen.
Last version of DSPACE (4) uses "responsive web design" approach, implemented with Twitter's Bootstrap (http://getbootstrap.com), which can be freely adopted to any website.

Michelangelo

Two great examples of this on library sites are New York http://www.nypl.org/ and Multnomah https://multcolib.org/

Subject: [WEB4LIB] Can the same website look well on a smart phone and on a desktop?

Hi,

We are looking at design ideas for our website. We are hoping to create a site that will look well on small screens such as smart phones and on large screens such as PC monitors.

Can this be done without using two different style sheets? Is it possible to achieve this with a single design? I know that Google looks very well on a smart phone and on a PC monitor, but are there examples of library sites that have achieved this?

I would appreciate any advice.

Regards
John
