Taylor & Francis is currently producing a White Paper that analyzes the challenges and opportunities presented by social media as a communication tool in the library: http://www.tandf.co.uk/journals/pdf/white-paper-social-media-in-the-library-best-practice.pdf
Taylor & Francis would like to invite six participants to join us for a focus group to discuss how social media is being used in the library and how this differs based on the experience level, knowledge, and focus of librarians working in various functional areas of the library.
This 90 minute session will be hosted by Michael A. Arthur, Head of Acquisitions and Collection Development at the University of Central Florida Libraries, and Elyse Profera, Library Communications Manager, Americas Region for the Taylor & Francis Group.
Date: July 10th 2014
Time: 10.00am
Venue: Taylor & Francis Group office, 530 Walnut Street, Suite 850, Philadelphia, PA 19106
Lunch at a local restaurant will follow, travel expenses up to $500, and a thank you Amazon e-gift card will be provided to each attendee. Your participation will help to inform the White Paper and outline a series of recommendations relating to the best positive outcomes of social media tools in the library.
If you are interested in taking part in our research (even if you aren't available for this focus group) please email aalia.oosman at tandf.co.uk for more details.
Thank you in advance for your participation and note that spaces are limited, so please RSVP by Wednesday 30th June.
Best regards,
Elyse Profera
