Email 2 Step Authentication - No Mobile Phone Issue

Hi all,

How are you dealing with library patrons who are being required to enter a mobile number to receive text notifications (receive security code) for authenticating their email account? I thought there were still a few free webmail apps out there that didn't require a mobile phone/text option for a security code, but did not have luck helping elderly gentleman yesterday (his Hotmail/Outlook account now requires a mobile; he doesn't have one and using his land line did not work). When I tried to help him create a new account on Yahoo, Aol, etc., they now all ask for a cell phone number when you sign up. The only one that didn't was mail.com, but when we tried to create a new account for him on that service, it kept giving the message to try again later.

Thanks in advance for any advice/tips...
