Open Position: Front-End Web Developer, California Digital Library
The California Digital Library (CDL) is a collaborative effort of the ten campuses of the University of California, designed to enable UC's libraries to meet the informational needs of faculty, students and staff. The CDL develops systems and provides a focus for the development of strategies and initiatives that guide the University's libraries through the transformations necessary to succeed in the digital age.
The Front-End Web Developer will work under the supervision of the Web Production Manager and be responsible for creating dynamic, scalable, standards compliant web solutions and applications. The incumbent will be an experienced professional possessing an in-depth understanding of front-end web development and knowledge of applications programming technologies, tools and protocols
Responsibilities include the ability to independently architect large, complex web sites with multiple interactions and functionalities, such as database interaction, search engines, CMS, and multimedia. Expertise in advanced front-end web development using HTML5, CSS3, Javascript / jQuery, AJAX, PHP, Photoshop, and other technologies is required. Knowledge of front-end frameworks, version control systems and Unix is required.
