Surely no permission would be required? Wouldn't that be fair use for the purpose of news reporting?

Section 107:

Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106<http://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap1.html#106> and 106A,<http://www.copyright.gov/title17/92chap1.html#106a> the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phonorecords or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting,...

Subject: [WEB4LIB] LHA Copyright Question

Hello All,

We have a reporter from Buzzfeed who would like to do a piece about Pulp novels and various organizations with collections at our archive.
She wants to take a photo of the cover and also of a page from inside the book as well as photos of some brochures from events and such.
Do any of you know what the guidelines are for this kind if thing? Is Buzzfeed responsible for securing copyright permission from the various creators of the items?

We'd be very grateful for any info.
Peace,
