Google Scholar in Place of Discovery

Dear All

Plus:

-          Quicker (performance);

-          Seamless (from ILMS/ERMS);

-          Includes more content.

Cons:

-          Cannot limit to only your content;

-          Does not include book records (I would love this);

-          No customisation allowed;

- Does integrate with an ILMS (requesting, holds, patron services).

I personally would replace my service with Google if it only did a couple more things.

Hi, Has anyone implemented Google Scholar in place of a commercial discovery service? If so, what have been the pros / cons?

If you've considered doing so, but decided against it, why?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
Glenn
