Usability and Instructional Support Specialist
Responsibilities involve supporting the work the Teaching and Learning Office (T&L),
supporting multimedia development needs of librarians and staff throughout the libraries,
leading usability and user studies of web user interfaces and applications with a focus on
discovery systems, creation of instructional materials for software used by Libraries
faculty and staff, and collaborating with various units across campus as appropriate. This
position is situated in the Teaching and Learning Office and reports to the Head.
Conducts usability studies, advises on public-facing interfaces and designs, assists in
user research projects. Co-directs the Instructor Development Program through
multimedia support and direction of participants, serves as business manager for
Information Literacy Toolkit and Head Hunt orientation game, provides leadership in the
production team for instructional videos. Collects and analyzes data to assess online
programs. Target hiring range is $36,000 to $40,000 annually.
