Digital Collections / University Repository Librarian

Murphy Library at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse is seeking a
dynamic, student-centered librarian to work in a collaborative library
environment. Responsibilities include: manage Murphy Library’s growing
digital repository. Work directly with faculty, staff, administrators, and
students to solicit, preserve, and service university content. Guide the
library in technology software and infrastructure used for digital
collections. Participate in reference services, information literacy
instruction, and collection development in assigned subjects. Participate in
collegial governance and campus and professional activities. The library
recognizes and values diversity in its faculty, staff, and students. We seek
a colleague who shares the library’s commitment to diversity and who will be
a dedicated librarian and mentor for students with diverse backgrounds,
preparation, and career goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: ALA accredited MLS; professional, post-MLS library
experience creating and managing digital collections; ability to select,
implement, and evaluate technology software and infrastructure used for
digital collections; demonstrated ability to work collegially and
communicate effectively.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience working in an academic library.
Experience leading an institution to transition institutional records of
varying formats into digital repositories.

SALARY AND RANK: Competitive salary for 9-month tenure track position at the
rank of Assistant Professor. An approximate 50% summer contract also is
available.
