[Web4lib] intermittent blue screens of death

Hi,

On our public Internet PCs, we will occasionally have a PC that will intermittently crash with a blue screen of death. This problem develops over time for no apparent reason, and the crashes occur about once or twice per day. The problem develops without any hardware or software being installed. I suspect the problem is being caused by the wearing out of the hard disk, but I am not sure of this. The PCs have a Juzt-Reboot card which wipes all data upon reboot; presumably, this means there is no memory dump file to examine. Frequently, the problem is solved by reinstalling the operating system (Windows XP), drivers, and software without changing the hard disk.

Is there a better way of dealing with this problem? When I reinstall the operating system, should I also change the hard disk, to pre-empt imminent problems, simply because the hard disk is over a certain age?
