Hello All,
Thank you for your kind responses. I just wanted to send an update email
for anyone else who might be interested in these type of resources. The
recommendations made to me were as follows:
- Video tutorials at http://lynda.com
- Michael Kay's XSLT book (I have the most recent(?) version: XSLT and XPath
4th ed.)
- The xsl mailing list http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list/
- Look at the w3 standards for XPath & XSLT. (http://www.w3.org/TR/xpath/&
http://www.w3.org/TR/xslt)
- Dave Pawson's faq: http://www.dpawson.co.uk/xsl/sect2/sect21.html
I also found several other resources, both free and paid, on the web:
http://apex.vtc.com/xslt.php ==> web training for $30/month
http://www.zvon.org/comp/r/tut-XSLT_1.html#Pages~Contents ==> free tutorial
http://www.cafeconleche.org/books/bible2/chapters/ch17.html ==> free
tutorial
http://www.xmlfiles.com/xsl/default.asp ==> free tutorial
http://www.w3schools.com/xsl/ ==> free tutorial
http://www.webucator.com/xml/course/xslt-2-0-xpath-2-0-training.cfm (paid
~$1185/ 3 day session)
http://skillforge.com/request-individual-pricing/?course=129 (paid: ~$490 /
2 day session)
I plan to work my way through the video tutorials and the Kay book this
summer, and if I have a chance to review any of the other resources I will
let anyone who's interested know how it goes!
Just for those who were curious: we do a lot of data transformation here,
including EAD to HTML and other more generic XML-to-revised-XML.
Thanks for all who wrote in :)
Caitlin
