2010 Southwestern CONTENTdm Users Group Meeting Registration Available

 

Registration is now open for the 2010 Southwestern CONTENTdm Users Group
Meeting scheduled for December 1 - 3, 2010 at the University of Houston
M.D. Anderson Library.

 

The keynote session, "CONTENTdm Update: What's coming in CONTENTdm 6?"
presented by Phyllis Kaiden of OCLC, will discuss what will be included
in this major release, the impact to your collections, migration path,
and schedule.  You will also hear the latest about usability studies and
see an up-to-the-minute demo of the new public interface.

 

The conference also offers two pre-conference sessions, "CONTENTdm
Basics" and "Embedding CONTENTdm Searches: Using CQR." Meeting Sessions
include:

 

    * Automating Patron Requests for Multimedia

    * Pesky PDF's, Now What do I do?

    * Have Your Cake and Eat it Too: Expanding access to your digital
collection through the Portal to Texas History

    * Basic Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)

    * Back roads or super highway: Making sure your collections are well
traveled

    * Limited Resources? Need Help? How about outsourcing?

    * Technical Introduction to CONTENTdm 6

    * An "Unconference" Session for networking and information sharing

Registration still available for Going Green @ Your Library 2 Online
Conference

 

Registrations continue to be accepted for Amigos' online conference
Going Green @ Your Library 2: Working Green, Teaching Green.  The
conference is November 3 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. CDT.

 

The keynote session, "Greening Libraries 2.0: The Next Step," presented
by Monika Antonelli, will focus on innovative green developments within
the library world, what logical next steps libraries should be
incorporating to become greener and more sustainable, and a discussion
of permaculture design principles and how they can be applied to create
greener and more sustainable libraries.

 

Going Green 2 will offer the latest information on environmentally
conscious librarianship, from working green to teaching green.  Check
