STETSON UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF LAW seeks applications for a Circulation/Reference Librarian. With its main campus in Gulfport, which is adjacent to St. Petersburg, Florida, the College of Law was established in 1900 and is Florida's oldest law school. Stetson is ranked first in advocacy and fifth for legal writing by the 2009 U.S. News & World Report and is the headquarters for the National Conference of Law Reviews.
Stetson also has a part-time program with classes held on both its Gulfport campus and its satellite campus in Tampa. Stetson has earned a national reputation for its advocacy and higher education programs. The College has centers for excellence in advocacy, elder law, higher education law and policy, and international law. This position reports to the Law Library Associate Director and is responsible for supervising all circulation functions at both the Gulfport and Tampa libraries. This person will also participate in general reference services assisting library users including faculty, staff and students in finding and using law library resources.
Qualifications include: JD from an ABA accredited school and/or MLS or equivalent degree from an ALA accredited library school, effective communication skills and a willingness to work cooperatively as a member of the law library staff.
