[Web4lib] Use of QR Code

It has worked, even though we still have some issues as some phones can't read the code, in some cases. Problems that we are facing, recently, when we created a mobile site for IFPRI, it was set up to recognize if it was a mobile source, to take them to the mobile site. When the QR code of books now are being read by some of the smart phones, instead of going to the landing page of the book, it is taking them to the mobile page.
We have no feeling on the usage yet. Visitors coming from a mobile application is increasing, but these not necessary come from the QR codes. This questions make me think that a way to count these may be if we create a bit.ly link in the URL of the code instead.
Since May when our mobile application went up this is the traffic:
May 431 visitors
June 686
July 1-15 366

I have plans for trying out the QR codes on journals linked to their e-format idea. Has it worked well for you? Do you have any feeling on the usage stats for the codes? (Even anecdotal would be interesting.)
Thanks,

We are using it in our publications and it points to the DOI which immediately conducts the serach and brings the publication to screen.
We have also used it in flyers and bookmarks that we distribute to announce publications or sites that we wnt people to go.
