[Web4lib] Local Book iPhone application

It works without any specific registry. I opened the new LT link to check my region and it definitely has great coverage of libraries and bookstores -- all pre-populated through links to LT Local. I think Tim Spaulding meant that users can register any sites that are not already there.

I'm hoping this is a first step toward a feature that will allow users who find printed materials through searches to click a button and see who in their area owns it. Even allow users to request/hold it for pickup or delivery to their homes. Yes, we know OCLC Local can do this, but when I'm searching Google or other internet search engines (as opposed to OPACs and federated library search tools), a feature like this would be far more convenient.

The original messages says "For starters, libraries should make sure they're in the database. It is, of course, all user created. You'll probably find you were put in by one of your most fervent patrons."

That means it is NOT pre-populated with everyone bookstore and library.

You also do NOT need to register with Google Maps to be included. It pulls from many existing sources. It does not require organization or individual entering a library into a database to appear on a map.
