OhioLINK Systems Developer


The Ohio Library and Information Network (OhioLINK) is seeking
analytical individuals to participate in the ongoing development of our
internationally recognized set of online library information services.
OhioLINK serves the higher education population in the State of Ohio
with 88 college and university member institutions and the State Library
of Ohio.


This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an
equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s of Library
Science degree from an ALA-accredited institution desired.


Strong programming skills in languages such as Java are required, and
candidate should be comfortable working in an Unix/Linux environment
with open source software. Experience with the following is highly
valued: Digital Repositories including metadata schema creation, Cocoon,
Apache Tomcat, XML/XSLT, PostgreSQL/Oracle. Experience with the
following is desirable: DSpace/Manakin, HTML/CSS site design, metadata,
Subversion, Perl, shell scripting. Experience with the following is a
plus: Tomcat, JBoss, Glassfish, or Resin Application Servers, Perl,
shell scripting; experience with Log4j, JUnit, Maven and Apache,
optimizing code for deployment in virtual environments; Oracle
Application Express (APEX) web application development tool.


Salary: $51,900 minimum with a generous university benefits package that
includes health care, retirement, vacation and sick leave.
