Call for Participation

Has your library used Google Analytics or other tools to analyze patterns
of user behavior on your website? Are you looking for an opportunity to
present at ALA? The RUSA MARS Hot Topics in Electronic Reference
Discussion Group seeks panelists for its upcoming program at ALA Midwinter
2010: “Analytics and Statistics: Improving Library services through Google
Analytics and Other Tools.”

We’re looking for presenters who have used Google Analytics to examine
statistics and patterns of use. The discussion could also be expanded to
look at the use of database or catalog use statistics in innovative ways.
Our session will focus on presenting these tools and discussing their
possible uses for improving reference service. Presentations are informal
and are intended to jumpstart discussion among the attendees.

The discussion will be held Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at the ALA Midwinter
conference in Boston. If you are interested in serving as a panelist,
please contact Anne Houston (ahouston at virginia.edu) by November 15 with a
brief statement of how you would contribute to the panel.
