Ah, but putting a visible left border on the large image would reveal
another table problem that I'd have to deal with.

I agree that it doesn't look bad, it's just hard to change anything.
The original image of the other entrance was taller and offered very
little contrast to the colors in the header and right margin, to the
point where everything looked almost sepia. The sky had been whited
out to disguise the table issue. The new images brighten it up
considerably. I take full credit for that. ;-)
