We're using Google Analytics to track use of the HathiTrust catalog (http://catalog.hathitrust.org/).

I think it does a pretty good job. I can pretty easily view hits on individual or different types of pages (search home, search results, holdings pages, author browse) and all kinds of other useful data like which facets are used most, etc. I'm currently working on setting up some of the more advanced features like event tracking (to track outbound links) and advanced segments.

Do you have more specifics about what want to track?

Best,
Suzanne

Related question: What's the state of the art of using Google
Analytics to measure *catalog* (OPAC) usage? It would be, I think,
quite tricky to have it track things intelligently-to get at the sort
of pages hit, for example. Has anyone done this successfully, or
published a guide to it?

Best,
Tim
