The Office of the Secretary of State, Washington State Library is
recruiting for a permanent, full-time Technology Consultant (Information
Technology Specialist 3).
The Library Development Program is seeking an enthusiastic, analytical,
and collaborative person to serve as a resource to individual libraries
statewide on a wide range of critical IT related issues. The Technology
Consultant will provide: help desk services to libraries across the
state, including monitoring of libraries connected to the statewide K-20
Educational Network; consultancy on information technology and the
federal E-Rate program; server administration for centralized services
to libraries; development and delivery of technology training, and; IT
support for Library Service and Technology Act (LSTA) funded initiatives
and projects...
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Four years of full-time (40 hours per week) experience
analyzing, installing and/or maintaining computer software applications,
hardware or network infrastructure equipment; An additional year of
experience may be substituted for required education on a year for year
basis
* Valid Washington State driver's license or the ability to
obtain upon employment
* Significant state-wide travel is required
* Ability and willingness to work some weekends and evenings
beyond normal working hours in support of division activities and events
* Must be able to move and maneuver objects weighing
approximately 40 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
* Master's degree in library science from an American Library
Association accredited program
* One year of full-time (40 hours per week) experience
maintaining computer and network infrastructure in a library setting
* One year of full-time (40 hours per week) experience as system
administrator installing, configuring, identifying moderate operational
problems and/or administering server platforms (Windows, Linux, Unix)
* One year of full-time (40 hours per week) experience
designing, delivering and/or coordinating trainings on technological
subjects
* One year of full-time (40 hours per week) experience working
with the federal E-Rate program, submitting requisite forms and /or
explaining and interpreting program rules
COMPENSATION
$4114 - $5395 per month, depending on qualifications. Washington State
