Virtual Branch Manager 

Chattahoochee Valley Libraries seeks an innovative individual to plan and “build” the library’s Virtual Branch. The Virtual Branch Manager will provide the vision to design, develop, and deliver innovative and quality services in a virtual environment. The VBM will develop, market and deliver a comprehensive suite of digital library services including Reference, Readers’ Advisory, podcasts of programs and circulation of downloadable materials. This individual will play an integral role in staff training, website development and in analyzing user requirements for systems and services. The VBM works closely with the IT department to determine necessary technology resources for the library and with the Collection Coordinator to evaluate and select electronic resources. 

 

Qualifications: Master of Library Science from an ALA‐accredited program or a Masters in Management of Information Systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; applied knowledge of emerging information technologies including web‐authoring tools and social networking software; strong problem solving, organizational, interpersonal and written and oral communication skills; initiative and ability to manage multiple responsibilities and implement projects on a deadline. A sense of humor and flexibility are also desirable. 

 

Salary and Benefits: pay range $53,730 to $64,890 for a 240 day work year. Excellent health and retirement plans. Paid membership in professional organizations.
