Yes, I don't really understand the how or why, but if you use a program like Photoshop (with advanced image editing functions designed for print production) you can encode jpgs as RGB, CMYK, grayscale or with your own color profile. And IE only supports RGB or grayscale. I think FF only recently began supporting CMYK images.

Dumb question but can you even save a Jpeg in CMYK?  I thought all the 
colors go moosh (i.e. shift, etc.) as part of the compression process.
