The Buena Park Library District is recruiting for a Systems Services
Manager. 

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

 


SYSTEMS SERVICES MANAGER


 

Duties:  A management level position that reports to the Library Director
and is responsible for oversight of the Systems Services Department.
Responsible for planning, organizing and directing the activities of the
System Services Department in a team-oriented environment.

 

Analyzes library automation needs and requirements, including making
recommendations, and implementing solutions designed to meet those needs.
Provides hardware and software technical support for library computer
systems, workstations, and related peripherals. Recommends and implements
computer software application, operating system and hardware upgrades.
Maintains and administers library website, email accounts, and all related
services. Provides LAN networking support. Supervises Facility Maintenance
Supervisor and Clerk I/Tech Assistant.

 

Hours:  Full time position, generally Tuesday through Saturday, some evening
shifts required.

 

Requirements:  Four years minimum experience working with a library
automated system and library integrated systems as a Systems Administrator
or similar capacity.  Two years of experience as a full-time professional
manager in a public library, including experience in a supervisory capacity.
Knowledge of current library technology and trends.  Knowledge of varied
operating systems including Unix and Microsoft Server systems. Ability to
communicate easily and rapidly in English with library vendors, staff and
customers orally, via telephone and in writing.  Ability to write reports
and make oral presentations using correct English grammar, spelling,
punctuation and vocabulary.  

 

Education:  Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in management information
systems, computer science or related field from an accredited four-year
university desirable.

 

Salary:  $64,958 - $88,899, plus benefit package that includes fully paid
employee health, dental, vision, life and LTD plans. PERS retirement program
(employee pays 7% employee contribution).  Eight (8) paid holidays.  Two
weeks vacation.  Sick leave accrual at the rate of eight hours per month.
