Library Associates Companies (LAC) seeks an Information Architect to
work under contract for the USAID Library in Washington, DC. The
Architect would be responsible for supporting a community of webmasters,
developing an inventory of websites, and helping to establish website
norms and guidelines. This position is based in Washington, DC. 

Responsibilities:

*	Gathering and organizing information about websites, web-based
applications, and online communities; 
*	Develop logical data models in order to present complex systems
and relationships to various audiences; 
*	Facilitating meetings that include discussing technical issues,
gaining consensus, and providing meeting follow-up; 
*	Using various user-centered design methods to gather
requirements and convert them into technical specifications; 
*	Developing and maintaining knowledge management processes and
tools in collaboration with Agency staff; 
*	Develops and maintains websites for region- and sector-specific
bureaus within USAID in collaboration with Agency staff; 
*	Stays abreast of trends in information technology and web
development; 
*	Stays abreast of trends in knowledge management and
international development. 

 Qualifications

Required:

*	  
*	3-5 years progressively responsible experience developing and
maintaining websites and other related technologies; 
*	Excellent organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving
skills; 
*	Master's degree in Information Systems, Library Science, or a
related degree with concentration in technology applications, a plus; 
*	U.S. citizenship required.  

Preferred:

*	Experience with Federal government web development guidelines
including OMB Privacy Policy and Web Content Accessibility; 
*	Demonstrated experience developing, editing and maintaining
web-based content; 
*	Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining dynamic,
data-driven web sites; 
*	Experience with user-centered design methods, requirements
gathering, and meeting facilitation; 

Desired:

*	USAID-funded web development experience

*	Developing web-based content on topics related to international
development;
