[Web4lib] Planning open source Library system at Duke

This is rather interesting because there already is at least one open source
integrated library system that has aspirations for use by academic libraries
... and at least three Canadian academic libraries are already contributing
to its development. Georgia Public Library Service created the system with
some financial support from the US federal government. The system is called
Evergreen (http://www.open-ils.org/).

The better known Koha (http://www.koha.org/) is another open source ILS
that's already in use by a few academic libraries.

No doubt the existence of two open source ILS will help shortcut any design
decisions.
