Library Associates Companies (LAC) seeks a Systems Librarian / Junior
Level KM Analyst to work under contract for a non-profit government
agency in Washington, DC. The Analyst will work with our client to
refine the Knowledge Management strategies and to improve the usability
of information and knowledge within and across the organization's
communities.  

Responsibilities 

*	Support the KM Team Leader by promoting and helping to advance
the agencies KM strategies; 
*	Capture lessons learned using resource tools; 
*	Coordinate taxonomy development; 
*	Evaluate expertise locator systems; 
*	Analyze and resolve difficult policy and planning problems or
issues; 
*	Conduct special studies; 
*	Make recommendations on new approaches to delivering and
implementing KM; 
	
	

Qualifications

*	Bachelor's Degree required; 
*	Degree in Library/Information Science, Knowledge Management, or
Information Architecture preferred; 
*	2-5 years of experience needed in capturing lessons learned,
taxonomy development, and communities of practice; 
*	Must be self-motivated and be able to respond under
pressure/tight timelines; 
*	Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently with
very little oversight; 
*	Hands-on familiarity with current web capabilities such as
blogs, chat, instant messaging, a plus; 
*	Background in taxonomy design/metadata design principles
desired; 
*	Experience with SharePoint is desired; 
*	Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication
skills.
