If you're unsure about rolling out OpenOffice on all your staff
computers, you could offer it to your staff to try out at home and
on-the-go, and then solicit feedback from them. I'd recommend using the
portable version of OO, available as a standalone:
http://portableapps.com/apps/office/openoffice_portable
and as part of the PortableApps suite:
http://portableapps.com/suite
As previously stated, make sure your users are aware that they'll want
to save their files in the Microsoft-compatible formats. The big draws
in this case are not only the price (free) but the portability. This
release is specifically designed to run from any location (like a thumb
drive) without installation; "uninstalling" the program is as simple as
deleting the folder if your staff doesn't like it. It's a great
solution for travelers who frequent multiple (often public) computers,
and for staff members who'd like to get a cable office suite on their
home computer without spending a fair sum of money on it.
Best of luck
