[Web4lib] Coding for IE5.2 on a Mac?

Hi Nancy,
Yep, from where I sit IE has been dead on the Mac for a long time.
Besides the fact that no updates have been made to it for years, it
has all kinds of compatibility and security issues that are better
left long forgotten than trying to deal with.

That being said, if it's not possible to convince the director of the
other institution to use a modern browser (Safari and Firefox are
outstanding, but there's also half a dozen other browsers for the
mac), back when IE 5 *was* being used, people were coming up with CSS
hacks specific to IE 5 on the mac that could be commented into style
sheets to compensate for some of its peculiarities. One of the CSS
sites that I rely on regularly is Position is Everything
http://www.positioniseverything.net/
which has a number of links and resources to various hacks and
solutions to typical problems. I haven't dug into whether they address
Suckerfish menus in specific, but it's probably possible to Google
around and find some hacks out there....

Good luck,
Maurice
