Subject: Re: [Web4lib] Downloadable audiobooks - Windows Media Player for theMacintosh?

The iPod currently has no way of playing Windows Media files of any
  shape or size.
While this is true, iTunes will convert non-DRM windows audio files into a format that the iPod can play. You lose some audio quality with this conversion process but it wouldn't be noticeable to most people.

Also, I read over and over on this list (but not in this specific post) that Audible.com is not iPod compatible (and no one ever seems to correct this). I'm not sure why people think this. I have only ever owned/used an iPod for audio (and now video) files and get items from Audible.com (for personal use) and play them on my iPod just fine. Am I misunderstanding what people mean when that's stated? There's certainly no technology issue at play here but perhaps there's a policy/licensing one?

Cheers,
